The lovely Nova let me test her second pattern, and boy did I luck out!
I've been following Nova's blog for a couple of years and she always makes such beautiful pieces.
The pattern is called Nesting Fabric Bowls but it is so, so, so much more.
The basic pattern is as it says a bowl but Nova has expanded on this idea not one but several times.
She shows you how to make the bowl into a square, how to add handles and pockets, how to make smaller ones that you can hang up, it's like having 3 or 4 patterns in one.
And if that wasn't enough she even shows you how to use an formula to make a bowl in which ever size you want to, and don't worry if like me maths is not your best subject she has put the formula onto a foolproof worksheet.
This is the one I made for my lace knitting, I used an old pair of Jeans and this really cute owl fabric and it goes all round the house with me and to my Needles and Natter group.
I used the 6" bowl and added one handle and inside pockets.
I also made a 9" bowl for my Hubby for his room in the Mess.
I've had these flags for a while and thought they would be great for Hubby.

Honestly these bowls are addictive and I plan on making more once I've caught up with all the other sewing I'm half way through.
Nova the Sweetie she is has offered to give a pattern to one lucky reader.
So if you'd like to get your sticky mitts on a PDF of this fabulous pattern, I'd like you to tell me what you plan to put in the bowl or bowls when they are finished.
That's it you don't have to sign up follow the blog to enter but if you'd like to, that would be lovely ;)
If you don't win or you just can't wait, pop over to Nova's blog here A Cuppa and a Catch up
Ok I need to sign off now as it's bedtime.

I would make some bowls for my dresser in my bedroom...I would put things like lotions, hair bands and socks that have escaped from their significant other.
I would love to win the pattern, thank you for the chance. Your bowls are lovely. I would like to make a bowl or two for the bits of my current quilting projects to keep them separate from the scraps, etc.
Love you takes on Nova's patterns. The flags were a great idea
i have been wanting to make a set of color-featured scrap catching bowls, and some to hold my new addiction nail polish!
I'd like to make a bowl for all my rayon threads. Right now they are piled all over the place. Thanks for a chance to win.
OOOooo I'm the first!! Fingers double crossed for me to win as the first never wins!!!! LOVE your patriotic ones. My hub would have loved those in his mess too!!
I love the Union Jack! The fabric bowls look perfect for all sorts of things - to cover the base of a plant pot, fabric scraps and some where to put my growing patchwork hexagons pile. I'd love to enter. Happy Easter!
This is a lovely pattern. I think I'd like to make a couple - one to use as a "scrap catcher" for the scraps I'm keeping and the other one as a thread and snippets catcher for those I'm not.
I love this pattern and plan to buy it, so I'll just try my luck here first. Of course I will use my bowls for knitting and fabric, and I think I'll make one cat bed sized too, my kitties love bowl shaped beds.
I'd have these all over my workroom in lots of different sizes to replace the ugly plastic containers I use now. Thx for the chance. You made some wonderful examples.
I love containers of any kind-I would use them for all my knitting "stuff"-finished projects; patterns; yarn, etc. Using some of my leftover quilt squares would be fun, too!
First thought is to make them for my sewing room to help organize all my gadgets. Does anyone know the secret to organization in a sewing room?!! ;-))
These are so cute they could be used anywhere..rolled hand towels in the bathroom...hmm.
awesome, thankyou and happy easter!
I`d like to win the pattern also. Thank you for offering some. I will put all the tiny dolls and horse, smurfs, pencils and so on from my two little daughters in it, so I really need lots of this wonderful bowls:-)

I think one would be great on my desk for holding miscellaneous things like paper clips, etc..
I can think of tons of things I would put in these little bowls. The first thing that comes to mind are office supplies. Then I would make a large one for my cat to play in, he does love a good large box.
I always have way too many projects on the go and the baskets will be great for keeping them organied! Thanks for the chance to win! :)
These are a great idea! I love the flag ones! They could be used anywhere - in my sewing room I'd fill them with reels of thread and notions!
Oh so much! I want on for knitting, one for fabric scraps, one for the girls toys, one for the hubby to empty his pockets into, one for napkins on the table. Ok i think i should stop now...
Not sure what will go in them. I plan to make a set for my daughter out of London by Andover Fabrics. I think it will look so cute using a different fabric for each! Thanks so much!
I think I'd use the bowls to hold figures and toy bits and treasures that my boys collect. Never enough storage!
I'd make one for my mom Andover for each of my four boys, all in the same fabric. As we live in 4 different countries, it would be nice to think of each other each time we used our box! Oh! And one for me-I forgot to say!
Will be signing up for blog as it is wonderful.
SEW fun! I would make a basket for my neighbor's knitting supplies :)
I can use some containers for all the scraps that are not tossed in one big bin. Thanks for your giveaway. Hope I win!
I would love to have this pattern, it sounds amazing and versatile. The first bowl I would make would be for my quilting scraps in my sewing room or maybe a small one for keys and change for when my fiancé empties his pockets. Thanks for the chance to win!
Um, pretty much everything I own. OK, not quite - but I can imagine using these in every room for all sorts of stuff: toiletries in the bathroom, potatoes and the pieces of my handheld blender in the kitchen, knitting yarn and sewing stuff in the living room, pencils and metronome and tuning forks in the music room...
I'd use them to organize my girls' toys in the family room. Thanks for the great giveaway!
I want to make a bunch of these for gifts and others can decide what to put in them
I would definitely use it for my on going knitting project. Easy to have the ball of yarn in it as a knit. Thanks for the opportunity, I love your flag idea, I have several that can be put to good use.

Brilliant giveaway, I've been eyeing this pattern up! I love your flag versions. I can see these in each colour for my craft room, different sizes and holding my fabric scraps, yarn, buttons, everythign!
Those bowls are perfect for so many things, aren't they? Hmm ... one for the home office to hold receipts, another for notepaper near the phone, some for organizing small needlework projects, a couple more to hold fabrics that are being auditioned for an upcoming quilt ... the possibilities are just about endless!
would love the pattern don't know what i would make

I would make a series for the playroon ... one for wooden blocks ... one for toy animals ... one for Lego. The possibilities are endless.

Hi, Tracy, great blog and I love your owl fabric! If I were lucky enough to win this pattern I would make some to put in the bedroom my grandchildren use when they stay with me. Maybe they would put their bits and bobs in them instead of me clearing up and I would make some to take to my grandchildren in Scotland(3 girls!) I usually take them some bits and bobs as I dont see them very often and it would be great to put them in bags like these, They would love them. Best I stop now .I am starting to sort out fabric just in case I win!!!lol.x
Lovely pattern! I think I could probably find a use for them in every room in my house. Bottles, zips, lace, remotes, keys endless possibilities. Thanks for the chance to win.
ooh! great giveaway (I'm a Nova follower, too). I see visions of fabric bowls all over the house, holding: scraps of fabric, WIPs, the fids' embroidery floss and finished friendship bracelets, current lego constructions, my teas in the pantry, toiletries in the linen closet,... I'd be one happy (and busy) lady.
What a great idea! I can see them as a great baby shower gift.
These are great bowls. I might make them for bathroom storage.
Since finding Nova's blog a couple of months ago, I have broken out my sewing machine, knitting needles and embroidery hoop. The bowls would come in very handy to keep organized all the fabric scraps, yarn and embroidery projects that I now find littering my dining room, eh sorry sewing room! Whether I win or not that lovely Brit in Oz has given this Brit in the USA lots of inspiration.
thanks for the chance to win. i've been eyeing these bowls since they previewed. lovely!
I think one would be great on my table for holding all my stationeries. Thanks.
A smaller bowl would look nice filled with my collection of buttons.
is it too late? i could use a dose of organization to go with my spring cleaning and they would be perfect!
I desperately need something to hold my knitting projects aside from a bag that gets things all tangled up. These baskets would be perfect!
I would make some girly ones for my new niece-to-be (can't wait to play with pink as I have two boys :-)
Such a clever sweet pattern! love it! I would use them for - my embroidery projects and for stashing tidbits that I want to take up when I see my daughter at college - she would love these fabric boxes! thanks!
I love love love these...as I told you at needles and natter the other week!! I would rather just win a ready made one as sewing is not my strong point, I would keep knitting in it (much to husbands annoyance!!) xx
I would love to win because I really really need to make some so that I can keep my ric-rac all in one place looking gorgeous!
I am following your blog now too.
